A nurse gives prescribed injections, sets a cannula or runs IV saline at home.
A registered nurse gives the injection (IM, IV or insulin) or sets up the cannula and IV saline exactly as written on the prescription, using new sterile disposables, and monitors the patient until the saline finishes.
A valid prescription is required; the nurse will not give any medicine without one. Medicines and saline are bought by the family; the nurse brings gloves, swabs and disposal bags.
